Transforming Our Critical Voice Into Something Helpful With Tapping and EFT In 8 Easy Steps

One of the reasons that I love EFT/tapping is because it is very effective in dealing with our critical voice. The critical voice is nothing more then that little nagging voice that is always pointing out everything we have done wrong, everything we are going to do wrong, and everything we are never going to be.

Sometimes this voice is nothing more than a simple annoyance, while other times it can be so crippling that it prevents us from getting out to bed in the morning.

Here is an easy 8 step process to transform the critical voice into a very powerful tool for change and transformation.

Reasons That Stop Us From Trying

Often we are ourselves the biggest obstacle to our success. We hold beliefs that prevent us from trying, that prevent us from recognizing the opportunities we have to move forward. “Brian” was in a situation where he wanted to move forward with his business. He came up with a number of brilliant ideas to move his business ahead, but when push came to shove he wouldn’t take the steps he needed to take to move forward.

Not using “Even thought I…” and the KC point

I have read a number of your articles. I love the fact that you often give tapping phrases to go along with the info, but you don’t give them in a way that I am used to seeing tapping phrases. Why don’t you use the phrase “even though I…” while tapping on the KC point and why don’t you list tapping points with the tapping phrases?

The Danger Of The Word “Need”

Even though we know that when we say we “need” something we are really saying we “really want” something it can still lead to problems. The subconscious mind takes these need statements as absolutes which it must live up to. In this article we examine how “needs” can get us in trouble and how a simple change of language can accelerate our healing.

Toa Te Ching/Doa De Jing as a tapping tool?

The Toa Te Ching is an ancient Chinese text that is a collection of 81 short passages. As wikipedia rightly states, “The passages are ambiguous, and topics range from political advice for rulers to practical wisdom for people.”

Some passages are insightful, others are profound, and still others will leave you just scratching your head in bafflement.

The topic of the Toa Te Ching came up during a client session recently. The types of issues we were tapping(EFT) on reminded me of many passages. After the session I dug out my dog-eared and tattered copy. I was amazed at how much peace it brought to tap along to the passages.

Creativity Boosting Techniques That Accelerate Tapping Success (AKA: How To Keeping Tapping When It Gets Boring Or Stale) Part 4 of 4

Mechanically tapping/Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a very easy thing to do. All you need is to provide stimulus to the tapping points plus tuning into the issue at hand. The tapping part is easy; what can be hard is the tuning in part. Often we are so close to an issue or we have been working on an issue that it is difficult to see it clearly.

In the first three parts of this series we build upon ideas from two articles found on Jeremy Dean’s PSYBlog. In this fourth part we will look at a number of other ways we can get past block and the feeling of tapping staleness.

In this four part series I am going to explore how we can apply many of these insights to tune into our issues in new ways (plus a few of my own).

Letting Go

Often times when we are approaching transformation we look to adding new skills and resources (to do new things) or to heal past wound (that have us trapped in the past). These are great paths to pursue with our work, but they are not the only paths.

Many times we are carrying emotions, memories, or beliefs from the past that are no longer useful in the present. We also choose to carry burdens and problems for our loved ones. Letting go of these no longer useful burdens can quickly open us for healing of the issues we face in this moment.

  • Web Hosting: HostMonster (aff) A very inexpensive and reliable hosting company. I house 11 domains for under $6 a month. Great 24hr support!

  • Blog Theme: I use the ThemeFuse (aff) “LifeStyle” theme. When I switched to this theme I had lots of readers comment on how much better it looks and my web traffic improved. Max, who runs the support forum for this theme, is a rockstar!

  • Newsletter: Aweber (aff) is the gold standard when it comes to email newsletter. Easy to use, very powerful, and great phone and chat room support.

  • WordPress Ninja: I have done lots of things to tweak the wordpress theme on this site. Well…really Bryan Murdaugh has done the tweaks I wanted. If you are looking to just add something to your site or you need someone to help you start from scratch Bryan is the guy. Smart, funny, and a quick worker.

  • Content: Most of the content on this site is fueled by hot and cold beverages from local coffee shops. You can help provide Gene with some of that fuel.
