Pod #438: Tapping For Panic About Global Issues

March 11, 2020 by Gene Monterastelli

At the time of the recording of this podcast the COVID-19 virus is starting to impact daily life around the world. The number of cases is spreading. Sporting events are being canceled. People are being encouraged not to travel.

Because of the constant stream of news and information on our social media feeds, it is easy to feel panicked.

This panic is rooted in two factors. The first is the fear about getting sick. The second is the fear caused by knowing we can't do anything about the big picture problem. It's as if it is something that is slowly creeping towards us and we are powerless to stop it.

This week I have for you a simple tap-along audio and script to help you to feel calm in the face of a global problem that we don't feel like we can do anything about.

[Note: Here is a tap-along audio and script to help you to stay healthy. If you are feeling sick, make sure you reach out to your primary care provider. Tapping is a great tool to augment and support your health, but should not be the only tool you use.]

You can find the full tapping script of this audio as a pdf over at Tapping Q and A Podcast Scripts and Transcripts.

Pod #437: The Most Misunderstood Part Of Tapping? The Words You Say

March 9, 2020 by Gene Monterastelli

The most common question I hear about tapping is “Will tapping work for [insert issue]?” The second most common question is “What are the right tapping phrases to use for [insert issue]?”

I understand why that question is so often asked. In most tapping trainings you are taught that your tapping phrases need to be as specific as possible to get the most out of tapping.

This concern is compounded when you hear an experienced tapper effortlessly come up with what seem to be the perfect phrases.

In reality, there is no such thing as the “exactly right words” to tap along to. The words themself aren't magic.

In this short audio I explain how best to approach the words and phrases that you can tap to AND the most effective way to come up with the perfect phrases for you.

The good news is that it's much easier than you would think.

Pod #436: Tapping To Be Comfortable With Pride

March 4, 2020 by Gene Monterastelli

Pride is on the list of the seven deadly sins and whether explicitly and implicitly, our culture discourages us from displaying pride or egotism. Instead, we are taught to do our work and keep our heads down.

Pride is on the list of the seven deadly sins and whether explicitly and implicitly, our culture discourages us from displaying pride or egotism. Instead, we are taught to do our work and keep our heads down.

It is true that some people have outsized egos that cause them (and others) problems, but just because there are egomaniacs in the world doesn't mean that we shouldn't feel pride.

Feeling a sense of pride in our work and our capabilities is healthy. It helps us to stay motivated and continue to do good work and it allows others to see what we can do, what is possible and how we can help them.

Tap along with this week's podcast to cultivate a healthy sense of pride in who you are, what you can do, and what you have accomplished.

I failed miserably in a very public way

March 3, 2020 by Gene Monterastelli

Good morning,

Eleven years ago on today I published my first ever podcast episode and it was a total disaster.

OK, maybe that's a bit of an overstatement, but there were so many problems with the first episodes that I had to take it offline within the first three hours of publication so that I could re-edit it and re-publish it.

smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

To be fair, I was brand new to podcasting and I was learning everything on the fly.

Eleven years later there are over 460 episodes in the archive!

  • There are more than 200 hours of training, interviews, and tap-alongs – All FREE!
  • Episodes have been downloaded over 2 million times
  • The podcast has been listened to by people in over 160 countries

It still amazes me that something that started with a $19 microphone in my living room has turned into all of this!

If you would like me to celebrate with me, I have two simple requests for you!

First, I would ask that you subscribe to the podcast. It's free to subscribe to podcasts, not like Netflix or Disney+ where you have to pay a subscription fee. By subscribing you are making sure you don't miss any episodes.

Here are the most common places you can subscribe:

Apple | iPhone | Android | Google | Spotify | Pandora

For more options go to: http://TappingPodcast.com

Second, share the podcast with a friend. The most common way people find a new piece of audio is via a recommendation from a friend.

The beautiful thing about the podcast archive is that it contains all of the shows that are already recorded. No more needs to be done. All they have to do is listen.

AND when the people around us use tools like tapping they are happier and healthier. When they are happier and healthier they show up in the world in a different way. When they show up in the world in a different way everyone's life is better.

Yes, I know how cheesy that last paragraph sounds, but I also know that you know it is true.

I don't want you to spam your inbox and send it to everyone under the sun. Instead, think of three people who might appreciate the podcast. Reach out to them. Tell them what you have found useful from the podcast. And, if you need to, teach them how to listen to a podcast.

I know lots of you already recommend the show. I hear from people all the time telling me they have found the podcast because of the recommendation of a friend. It would mean the world to me if you were to keep passing it along.

Once again, thank you for an amazing eleven years. Thank you for listening. Thank you for sharing.

Here's to another eleven years of tapping!

Much love,

Gene
