What Would You Do If You Lost Your Home In A Typhoon?

March 5, 2014 by Gene Monterastelli

Good morning,

Last November super typhoon Haiyan devastated parts of the Philippines.

  • 12 million people were impacted directly
  • 4 million people were displaced from their homes
  • 1 million homes were damaged or destroyed

In addition to the hardship of the destruction, I can't even begin to imagine the emotional toll an experience like that would have on me. Some of the children who lived through it described being crippled with fear every time the wind blows.

My friend Sebastiaan van der Schrier decided that something needed to be done for those impacted by the storm. Especially the kids!

In December he went to the Philippines where he worked with local government leaders to introduce EFT in as many schools as he could reach and he tapped with hundreds of kids to bring relief to the trauma they had suffered.

After this experience he decided he wanted to do more!

His new goal?

  • Tap with 10,000 kids (yes, 10,000)
  • Train 100 local practitioners
  • Train 3 local trainers
  • Build 200 sustainable homes
  • Build 5 storm proof classrooms

To achieve this goal Sebastiaan is doing two things.

First, he has invited 10 practitioners to join him April 21st – May 12th in the Philippines to tap with kids and run trainings. These practitioners are closing down their practices for few weeks to help out.

Second, he is reaching out to the tapping community help raise the funds to pull off this amazing ambitious goal.

Last week I received a note from Sebastiaan asking if I would be willing to support him in this endeavor.

The answer was yes, of course.

On a closer reading of his note I realized he was inviting me to be one of the 10 practitioners to join him.

I was (and still am) amazed by the invitation.

I looked at my calendar, moved a few things around and I will be joining the team for 10 days.

I Need Your Help

I am reaching out to ask for your help.

In order to pull off everything that Sebastiaan wants to do we need to raise $150,000. I figured that since I was one of the 10 practitioners going that I should try to raise 10% of that.

My personal goal is to raise $15,000. If we do this it means I will be able to work with 1000 kids and we will be able to build one storm proof classroom.

If everyone who reads this email donated just $25 we would reach that goal many times over.

Think of it this way… $25 will mean that I will get to work with 5 kids tapping on a major trauma working to giving them back the joy of childhood.

You Help AND You Get Something

If you donate $25 or more I will send you an ebook containing 50 tapping scripts to help you stop self-sabotage in your own life, a copy of Steve Wells and David Lake's ebook “New Energy Therapies”, and a copy of the EFT Level Manual ebook by Tania A. Prince.

ALSO, if we reach our goal of $15k then I will run a 4-week series of tapping calls for everyone on my mailing list, not just the people who donated.

Your donation means that:

  • Kids receive trauma relief
  • Homes and schools are built
  • You get 50 awesome tapping scripts, “New Energy Therapies” ebook, and Level EFT Manual
  • Everyone can participate in free tapping teleclasses.

How could you say no to that?

If you are looking for more information on the project please take a few minutes to watch this video.

To ensure you get your bonus for donating use the following link. By doing that I will be able to send you an email with your tapping scripts via the donation system.

(I will still be able to send you the ebook if you donate anonymously. I won't even know who you are.)

Donate here!

Thanks for your consideration. If you have any questions about the trip, the work, or making a donation, please let me know.

Blessings,

Gene

PS: I know I ask you all the time to pass my stuff along to people you know who might benefit from the resources on the site. This time it would mean even more to me if you would pass along the link to this very worthy cause.

Pod #124: EFT For Performance Anxiety w/ Gina Parris

February 19, 2014 by Gene Monterastelli

It happens all the time. You know how to do something. You might have done it a ton of times before. But the moment you step in front of someone else and have to do it you freeze.

You might be before a whole group of people, like giving a presentation, or just in front of one person, like in a job interview. You get tense. And sweaty. You can't remember what to say or do. You might even shake.

Things that usually come easily to us are suddenly really difficult when others are watching us.

In this interview with Gina Parris we talk about performance anxiety and how you can use what Gina calls “3 R” to move past it.

You Are Acting Too Responsible AND It Is Hurting You

February 15, 2014 by Gene Monterastelli

I'm lucky.

My life is filled with caring people. People who go much more than the extra mile to take care others. They are thoughtful, they are insightful, and they often know the needs of their loved ones before their loved ones do.

When I see this type of love, care, and concern I am inspired.

And I am heartbroken.

Give Too Much
The problem that very insightful and caring people have is that because they so clearly see the suffering and needs of other that they often put other people's needs first.

Well, that is not true.

Often they put other people's needs first, second, third, fourth, and sometimes fifth.

When this happens they end up putting themselves last.

Not only does this make it harder to pursue their goals but there are times where they end up hurting themselves.

Creating Boundaries
Once we realize that we are giving too much we realize that we need to start creating boundaries.

There are two problems with this.

One, we feel like we are letting other people down. We feel like we are being selfish. We feel like we are no longer being caring. Or at the extreme we can feel like because we are not taking care of others we are actively hurting them.

Two, it is hard to recalibrate relationships after we have created a precedent of us always taking care of the needs of others first.

I was talking to my sister last week about this idea and her struggle to create boundaries with some of her co-workers. She said something that I think rings true.

I need to be a responsible adult. I am not responsible for my co-workers.

I really think that sums it up perfectly.

It puts us in the right frame of mind. We are not saying we don't care. We are not saying we are only thinking of ourselves. We are saying that we are going to be responsible adults.

Responsible adults help those in desperate need. Responsible adults are thoughtful about how their actions impact others.

But at the same time we are not taking responsibility for someone else's life or actions. They need to do that.

I need to be a responsible adult. I am not responsible for my co-workers.

For me that statement cuts a nice middle ground of not giving up and not taking on too much.

Tapping To Create Boundaries
If you are struggling to create boundaries in your life the first thing I would do is to take my sisters phrase “I need to be a responsible adult. I am not responsible for other.” and just tap on that over and over again.

Next, I would take these aspects one at a time and tap for them

  • I feel like I am letting other people down.
  • I feel like I am being selfish.
  • I feel like I am no longer being caring.
  • I feel like I am actively hurting others by caring for myself.

If you are looking for support in helping to clear this issue there are lots of tap-along audios around letting others down, being selfish, and how others will respond to you if you are following your goals in the Ruach Center.

There you will find over 160 tap-along audios (with more added each week) and there are a number of them are focused on creating boundaries and being able to put ourselves first. Full details: Ruach Center.

The Reason You Aren’t Tapping? You Aren’t In Enough Pain

February 8, 2014 by Gene Monterastelli

[Note: If you find listening to instruction more helpful than reading you should check out the podcast version of this topic.]

I have some of the nicest readers in the world.

Like anyone who has an email newsletter, people unsubscribe from my list every day.

When unsubscribing there is an option to leave me a comment. Not everyone leaves one, but when they do my readers leave the nicest messages.

They thank me for my work, let me know the ways in which newsletter has been helpful, and wish me well.

On Wednesday I received an interesting note from someone who unsubscribed. She wrote:

Why My Readers Open My Emails

February 5, 2014 by Gene Monterastelli

A few weeks ago I sent out an email explaining why I run TappingQ&A. As part of the email I invited readers to unsubscribe from this mailing list.

It's not that I wanted people to unsubscribe. It is just that I know how valuable your time is and my aim is to be helpful, not a drain on your time. I only want to be sending emails to people who find them useful.

Two things happened.

One, I had a higher unsubscribe rate than I normally do. Many of the people who unsubscribed explained why and thanked me. It was very nice.

Two, I received a flood of emails saying just the opposite. Things like this:

"I really appreciate not only the great products you produce but also your honesty and authenticity."

"One of the things I really like about your style is your honest clarity. You are the friend I have not personally met, a spectacular mentor, teacher and more and I really look forward to your emails."

"Thanks for all the emails! They are a thread of sanity some days! I keep sending them on to friends as well."

That didn't happen by accident. I have worked really hard to create a relationship with my readers.

Would you like to learn how to create the same rapport with your readers and customers? If so, I encourage you to check out the live event I am presenting at the end of March.
