Pod #385: Tapping To Let Go Of The Emotional Burdens We Have Picked Up For Other

September 8, 2019 By Gene Monterastelli 4 Comments

It is difficult for us to see the people we love suffer but often we don’t consider the consequences when we rush in to help. Our need to bring peace and comfort can override all other thoughts and considerations. This is not always the healthiest choice for us in the short and/or long term.

Sometimes when we choose to help we do so by taking on the burdens of our loved ones. Many times we can carry these burdens for years without realizing, or we take on burdens when we are very young and do not remember choosing to do so.

When the burdens of others have been a part of our lives for so long they feel like they are a part of us and we don’t realize that they can be released.

Taking on someone else’s burden is an act of love motivated by wanting someone’s life to be better. But there is an even higher act of love which is to release the burden we have taken on, bringing freedom to ourselves and to others.

In this brief audio you will hear me leading a client through a demonstration of how we can use Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)/tapping to let go of the burdens we are carrying for others.

You can find the full tapping script as a pdf of this audio over at Tapping Q and A Podcast Scripts and Transcripts.

    Gene,
I’m sorry, but I find that these so-called “bonuses” as well as other podcasts, are just too short and gives me the impression of being teased in order to get me to buy your products.

I feel that as a practioner of EFT and someone that states you really want to help people, you would offer more in order to really help, but, instead you just really want to help yourself financially by taking advantage ( like so many other EFT “experts” are doing.

I know you probably won’t post any negative remarks, like mine, so I’m copying them just in case I get to the point where I want to expose people that fraudulantly project they’re help to others through their EFT “expertise”.

I hope I’m wrong about this ( and you ) but this is what I’m perceiving about your site, podcasts, and free sessions, at the moment.
Maybe you can do a tapping session on that.

    John,

Thanks for taking the time to stop by the site and comment on the services I provide. Here is how I would respond to your criticism.

    1) The amount of “useful” free content on the site.
Personally, I think there is a great deal of very useful free information on the site. Currently there are over 150 free articles and podcasts. By no means do I believe that I have total insight when it comes to every topic. I spend time every week improving my craft and knowledge so I can share more with my reader and my clients.

Even with that being said I believe there is a great deal of very useful information that can be used right away from the most beginner tapper to those who have been doing this for years. I would invite you to check out the “Top 9 Articles/Topics” I believe this the best of the best from the site.

    2) If you truly wanted to help people you would give away more stuff and not just be a tease
I make no bones about the fact that I am selling products and services. This is stated very clearly on the site and in the welcome letter when you join my mailing list. I don’t offer session and product just for the fun of it. This is part of my lively hood.

Doctors, dentists, and auto mechanics help people and we happily pay for their service and expertise. We pay them because they make our lives easier and better. As a tapping practitioner it is no different. Yes, my goal is to help people (just like it is a doctors goal to help people), but I need to do it in such a way so that I can make a living at it. If I am unable to make a living then I will move on to work where I can make a living. At that point I would be helping no one with my tapping experience.

Yes, I do provide the free resources on my site as a way of demonstrating my expertise. My hope is that when my listeners and readers come to an issue that is too big for them to manage on their own that that would consider hiring my to help them to archive the health and success they want.

The majority of the people who visit my site (over 98%) never buy a product or a session from me. They simple take the resources that are useful and add them to their wellness toolbox. I am very happy they are able to get something from the site.

    3) Turn the dial to the right
One of my favorite radio personalities always says, “If you don’t like our show, then just turn the dial to the right.” I have come to realize that I can’t be all things to all people. I do the best that I can with the site. I know the site isn’t perfect, but it is a labor of love and something I enjoy doing a great deal. Almost all of the resources on the site are offer free of charge. If the site isn’t serving you then you don’t have to come back.

There are lots of and of really wonderful tapping sites on line (many of which I have learned a great deal from). I hope you find a place that you feel like your needs are being met.

Thanks for taking the time to write me.

    Gene

GRACIOUS! I couldn’t agree with him less!!! Maybe you could do some surrogate tapping on HIM (or, her as the case may be) – Personally i have been BLOWN AWAY by the amount of TOTALLY USER READY APPLICABLE RIGHT NOW information on your site – i don’t think i’ve come across a site that has more actual USABLE information as yours. That writer definitely has some ISSUES!!! Well, I guess we all do, ;-) but I feel sorry for him/her – to have a lens so foggy and unclear that s/he can’t see what’s right there in front of him/her – sad. (Reminds me of a client i had who was convinced that her husband didn’t care about her or her needs even though there were pages and pages of evidence to the contrary – not the least of which was him sticking around for 12 years while she barely functioned under the weight of all her “issues” – and always open handedly funded her attempts to get help…the good news is that started to shift that perception as we worked together!!) I guess you find what you’re looking for, and this reader is looking for evidence that his/her needs aren’t being met and that everyone is out to take advantage of him/her for their own gain. Another thing that occurs to me is that you direct listeners/readers to numerous other sources and sites that would potentially benefit (financially)OTHERS, not necessarily you -assuming of course they decided to purchase from those sites.
And more than that, you are more than entitled to be compensated for your services! The fact that this site is a labor of love is a wonderful and beautiful thing, and I, for one, am IMMENSELY GRATEFUL!!!!!
