One of the reasons that EFT is so appealing is that it can be easily combined with other tools and modalities. In fact I know few people who do just EFT.
The problem with this for a newcomer to EFT is knowing what is EFT and what is the stuff that is added to it. This becomes even more complicated for Christians because it is often the other things that are combined with EFT that make many of them uncomfortable.
Most people who visit this site don’t know that since 1997 I have traveled the US and Canada working in Catholic youth ministry with the group APeX Ministries. We have worked with hundreds of thousands of young people. We were even Pope John Paul II’s opening act in 2001.
Because of this I have had the opportunity to give a lot of thought to and have a lot of conversations about whether it is OK for Christians to be using EFT.
To be clear, I am not a theologian or am I an ecclesial minister (meaning I am not commissioned by or speaking for the church). These are the questions I am asked, the reasons I feel comfortable using EFT, and the setting within which I feel comfortable using it.
I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

This was very interesting. I am a Christian myself and was introduced to this concept many years ago from another member of my faith, (to be honest I thought she was a bit loony) but after about 8 years I came back to it and it has been a great blessing in my life. Just another tool to find relief and healing. For me, you can find truth everywhere if you are open to it.

Hi Gene, interesting issue. I am an Atheist. In my experience, all the comments you and Laura say can equally be applied to those of no particular faith! We have, over the years, been indoctrinated to believe that the only healer is the person in the white coat who gives you a pill, potion or cuts you open to mend you. They do that, but so can EFT in many cases. At the very least it can support healing whatever route is taken.
EFT is based on knowledge that’s thousands of years old. I think it is to do with energy, but I accept that that has to be defined – can the body’s electrical energy be called mechanical? Not sure, but certainly its mechanical energy, tapping, that sets it off.
So I think what is really going on is normal human behaviour – we don’t always agree and will use whatever belief system to justify our opinion. It’s fun and great discussing it. Thanks Gene. Love Amerx

Thank you, Gene. This topic is so important that I did write a book about Christians using EFT. EFT for Christians and it is available on Amazon.com.
It is strictly a physical healing tool, based on the way God created our physiology, but EFT can also be incorporated into our faith practice, if someone so desired.
Thank you for re-doing this podcast.

Great podcast, as usual, Gene. I appreciate the subject, having been asked this many times. It truly resonated with me when you talked about how we see ourselves so differently than God does. I believe that serve as as a reminder to see both ourselves and those we help as not broken, but merely having forgotten ourselves.
Personally, I believe that God ‘helps’ everyone who desires it, and I’m reminded of the old adage, “God helps those who help themselves.” As I was growing up, I saw this being used in a very self-serving way, and was frustrated by opposing points of view on how or what we could do and what we were supposed to pray/ask for, and wait. But it came to me in a flash when discovering EFT that this was a perfect way to ‘help’ ourselves. It helps us see situations and ourselves more clearly, helps us see ‘our part’ in things, and helps us self-soothe appropriately, after those discoveries, in healthy ways, restoring us to wholeness and wellness.
I could go on, but I think my point is made. I appreciate this podcast very much, and hope it will be of great use to those troubled and pondering if they are ‘allowed’ to help themselves in this way.
Best always to you and thanks very much for all you do,
Jondi
