One of the reasons that I love the tapping community is because it is filled with so many thoughtful and caring people. These are people who want to make the world a better place and often are willing to go above and beyond to care for others.
At the same time, this can also be problematic because constantly taking care of everyone else means we have a tendency to put ourselves last.
AND in some cases it is worse than putting ourselves last. Sometimes we completely forget our own needs and aren’t doing anything at all to take care of ourselves.
In the last few weeks I have come to an interesting revelation as to why this happens. This episode of the podcast explores this issue and what we can do about it.

Thank you. Emotional doormat is a perfect description !!! I thoroughly eJOYed your recent summit. Since the age of seven, I have experienced multiple traumas of all different kinds. Thinking that helping those in continuous crisis helps them to succeed is really helping them to stay in denial, blame, dependency, and destruction. These days, I weigh everything by how I feel in my brain, my body, and my BEing. When my arthritis and fibromyalgia are almost unbearable, I know I have been paying attention to what I cannot control and neglecting what I vow to resolve. I cannot compel my angry resentful people to treat me tenderly and lovingly because each of us has a road to travel, but I can commit to the responsibilitiy of pursuing my own wellbeing to the best of my ability. My purpose is my alarm clock and one I welcome because it’s an opportunity to serve myself and others. I wish you awareness of self, love of self, and nourishment of self. May each day have something joyful to offer your heart. You are worthwhile. You deserve it.
