My walk home from Thanksgiving dinner took about a half an hour. It was a quiet afternoon and the Brooklyn streets were almost deserted.
As I was walking I started singing Sinéad O’Connor’s “Thank You For Hearing Me.” I find it to be a such a profound and holy song (and I don’t use the word holy lightly).
It would perfect to tap along to today.

Thanks Gene, you’re right, this is a perfect tapping song. Reminded me of the important aspects of almost all experiences – that we can grow from them and be in a better place. This does not mean we need to suffer, but if we do, it is possible to grow from those experiences as well. I remain clear however, that there are experiences/sufferings that we do not need to go through to achieve growth. I’m sure we all have our lists of these. Love Amer xx

Thank you for the song. It is the perfect gift for my autistic son. I am going to buy him an Mp3 player and encourage him to listen.
Your timing was perfect, too

Wow. This song blew me away. But I wasn’t prepared for “thank you for breaking my heart”. Two years and counting for me but I’m starting to feel worthy again…….. somewhat. Thank you for being you! (to Gene and me!)

Gene – thanks so much for sharing this. Long time since I’ve listened and it now has a whole new meaning for me. I’m finding it came at exactly the right time for me to use as a self compassion practice, accessing and appreciating my inner wisdom.
Hope I might get the chance to say hello in York at end of this month.

First, I say “thank you Gene” for all you do and yes this song almost brought me to tears.

Thank you, Gene. I bit of a tearful tapping session but very moving. Wishing you all the best in 2016! May we all continue to be thankful for the good and tough lessons we learn each year.
