Pod #449: Tapping For Self-Forgiveness

April 20, 2020 by Gene Monterastelli

One of the most difficult parts of the healing process is being able to forgive ourselves.

It’s common to believe that if we forgive ourselves, we are letting ourselves off the hook and failing to take responsibility for our past choices.

Self-forgiveness is actually the opposite of this. Being able to move to a place of forgiveness means we are taking responsibility for the past and making sure it stays in the past. When we don’t forgive, we’re just reliving the past over and over again.

This tap-along audio is a recording of one of my client sessions where we were tapping on the idea of self-forgiveness. I was given permission by my client to use this recording and I have also removed his voice from the audio. This will allow you to tap along as if I were tapping with you.

You can find the full tapping script of this audio as a pdf over at Tapping Q and A Podcast Scripts and Transcripts.

Now that was a powerful tapping script! Not permitting forgiveness to myself for information I didn’t have for past decisions was an opening perspective to break free of locking myself into a position of immobility. This allows helps to permit forgiveness to others for the decisions/action they made – as they didn’t have today’s information back then either. Thank you Gene!

thank you for the beautifully succinct tapalong. It couldn’t have come at a better time. Not forgiving myself is worse than the bad choice I am punishing myself for….BRILLIANT. thank you

Thanks Gene, after years of behaving in a certain way in a relationship, I have learnt to accept that in my effort to avoid conflict and/or make a decision in the best interests of the other person, I was not being true to myself. This tagalong has clarified to me that the information that was missing in these past decision, was information about how I could be true to myself as well. Love Amer xxx

Today, December 21st, that video will no longer play. There is a message instead that says the file won’t play because it is corrupt. I hope it can be uncorrupted because, as you say, Gene, tapping along with it a number of times would be effective. Thanks for all you are doing.

This may be the best and most useful tapping script I have ever heard. I will be doing it several times this week, for sure! Thank you so much!
