Bonus Pod #22 – My Favorite Tapping Tool: About, To, and As If

When I work with clients I like to teach them practical tools so that they are not dependent on our client sessions for progress. I want them to be able to continue to move forward on their. There are two tools that I teach the most because I think they are 1) very easy to do. 2) very versatile and 3) very powerful. (I will share the other tool in a future podcast.)

The tool “About, To, and As If” is a great way to deal with emotions around any relationship. The tool can be used for close friends and family or with people you have never met before. It can be used for people you have a contentious relationship with and it can be used with people who you want a better life for. You can do the whole tool in three minutes. or use it for a full hour.

The Hardest and Most Radical Tapping You Can Do

I was working with a client named “Jane”. Jane really knows Emotional Freedom Techniques(EFT)/Tapping. I said to her, “I have a radical suggestion for you. And you don’t need to do it. But it is a thought. I think you need to surrogately tap for both of them!”

Her response was a loooong pause, followed by, “OK, I’m listening. Why would I do that?”

Pod #45: Three Step Approach To Surrogate Tapping w/ Gwyneth Moss

One of the questions I get the most often into the site is about surrogate tapping. In this interview Gweneth explains how she came to understand the power of surrogate tapping and a very elegant three step approach that anyone can do any time. Over the course of the interview we talk about surrogate tapping for animals as well as people. We even spend a little time talking about if we need to get permission to tap surrogately for someone else.

Pod #28: It’s Not Surrogate But It Helps Others To Make Different Choices

I receive questions all the time about how one can tap to change someone else. There are some very specific implementations of surrogate tapping (like the work I do with autistic children). But it is not as simple as tapping to change the choices of someone else. We can’t tap to change someone else free will, but we can tap to create an environment where we give others a chance to make new and different choices. In this podcast I explain 3 ways in which we can take to help others to make different choices by working on our own emotions, make others feel loved and save, and by not bring our issues to the table.

Bonus Pod #3: When We Carry Burdens For Others

It is difficult for us to see the people we love suffer. Often we don’t consider the consequences when we rush in to help. Our need to bring peace and comfort can over riders all other thoughts and consideration. This is not always the healthiest choice for our self in the short and/or long term.

Sometimes when we choose to help we do so by taking on the burden of our loved ones. Many times we can carry these burdens for years. Often we don’t even realize this is case or we have taken on these burdens when we were very very young, having no memory of choose to takes these burdens on.

When the burdens of others have been a part of our lives for so long they feel like they are a part of us and we don’t realize they are something that can be released.

Bonus Pod #2: How A Parent Can Tap For Their Child

I am asked all the time by parents about how they can surrogately tap for their children. There is a great deal of confusion around what to say and what to focus on.

Pod #14: Tapping for Animals w/Susanne Peach

EFT/EvEFT is not only a powerful tool in transforming our own lives, but we can use it to care for our loved ones. In this episode I talk with Susanne Peach about how tapping for animals is similar and different to surrogately tapping for humans. Susan give a number of very practical tips in how you can start tapping right way for your animals.

Pod #3: What is surrogate tapping and how do I it

Surrogate tapping can be one of the most confusing topics when learning Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/EvEFT eveft.html). It can be difficult enough to accept that tapping on the body while tuning into physical and emotional issues can provide relief. It becomes a much more difficult leap to believe that tapping in the same way on our own body will provide relief for someone else.
