There is no question that Donald Trump’s public persona is one in which he thinks a great deal of about himself. I don’t think it is a bad thing.
Sometimes I wonder if he is over-compensating for something else by talking such a big game about himself and his success. More than likely that is just my own insecurities being projected ontohis braggadociosness.
When it comes to seeking out teachers and role models for healing, growth, and self love Donald Trump probably isn’t in the first six hundred thousand names that would come to mind. Regardless what you think of “The Donald” he reminds us of some great lessons that we can learn about loving ourselves. Here are few of my favorites.

Our romantic relationships take up a great deal of our time and energy. They can bring us great joy and great frustration (and even both at that exact same time). Even though each relationship is a new and different experience we can find ourselves falling in to the same patterns. Some patterns repeat themselves from relationship to relationship. Other patterns keep repeating themselves over and over again inside of the current relationship.

One of the phrases I hear frequently from clients is “I don’t deserve…” When we believe we don’t deserve something then we are going to prevent ourselves from getting it. It doesn’t matter if it is a better job, a loving relationship, or better health. If we don’t feel we deserve it then we aren’t going to move forward. In this reflection we look at how changing the way we understand the word “deserve” can change the way we heal.
Doing this interview was particularly special to me. My guest Brad Yates was the person who first introduced me to Tapping/EFT. In this spirited conversation we talk about the importance of self-love, the obstacles to loving ourself, and what we can do with tapping to improve our view of ourselves.

Gene Monterastelli is a Baltimore based EFT practitioner who in addition to work with clients and groups regularly writes and records about how to use the tapping protocols to regain control of your health and well-being.
