Pod #35: Improving Performance or Learning with Tapping w/ Jared Tendler

Our ability to be successful with any task is not just dependent on our skill set, but also our mental mind frame before, during, and after we are taking action. This mind frame cannot only impact our ability but also how we learn new tasks and improve our skill. In this podcast I talk Jared Tendler. Jared work with golfers and poker players around their mindset and mental game. Both of these games are great look at how we are impacted by mindset because of the immediate feedback we get from each choice. In this interview Jared talks about many different ways in which we can look at our mental makeup and how it relates to choice. The experienced tapper will see right away how to combine these mindset approaches with our Emotional Freedom Techniques(EFT)/tapping.

This is interview is jam packed with information. There are times when I finish an interview and am just blown away by the information. This is one of those information. I recommend listening to pod a few times and do it with pen and paper on hand.

About Jared: Jared Tendler, MS, LMHC, is an established innovator in the field of golf psychology, with more than 200 clients. His has a unique perspective, as he has not only a Master’s degree in psychology, but is a competitive golfer as well. His practical and straightforward approach is successful with golfers of varying abilities, from tournament professionals to beginners.

Jared played collegiate golf for Division III Skidmore College, where he was a three-time All-American, an Academic All-American, a two-year captain and the winner of nine events.

Coming out of college, Jared’s drive to become a professional golfer was thwarted by continual failures in pressure situations. But, as they say, when one door closes, another opens.

Jared saw an opportunity to combine his love of golf with his newfound interest in psychology, and he pursued a graduate degree in counseling psychology from Northeastern University. He entered into full-time practice, and after two years became a licensed mental-health counselor. It was then that he channeled his efforts into golf psychology.

  • Web Hosting: HostMonster (aff) A very inexpensive and reliable hosting company. I house 11 domains for under $6 a month. Great 24hr support!

  • Blog Theme: I use the ThemeFuse (aff) “LifeStyle” theme. When I switched to this theme I had lots of readers comment on how much better it looks and my web traffic improved. Max, who runs the support forum for this theme, is a rockstar!

  • Newsletter: Aweber (aff) is the gold standard when it comes to email newsletter. Easy to use, very powerful, and great phone and chat room support.

  • WordPress Ninja: I have done lots of things to tweak the wordpress theme on this site. Well…really Bryan Murdaugh has done the tweaks I wanted. If you are looking to just add something to your site or you need someone to help you start from scratch Bryan is the guy. Smart, funny, and a quick worker.

  • Content: Most of the content on this site is fueled by hot and cold beverages from local coffee shops. You can help provide Gene with some of that fuel.
